ENROLLMENT: Hawaii’s Cosmetology State Board regulation requires a minimum education to be that of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
All students must be a least sixteen years of age (a parent or guardian must be present at enrollment).
Applicants must provide a negative T.B. Test and photo I.D. upon enrollment along with a completed application form.
REGISTRATION: To secure enrollment on any date a registration fee of $500.00 (non-refundable) must be paid 30days prior to the beginning of classes. The maximum student capacity for each course is limited to 25 students.
BOOKS AND EQUIPMENT PAYMENTS: The schedule amount for each course (see course outline) must be paid 3 weeks prior to the start date in order to allow ample time for shipment. On the first day of classes the kits will be distributed.
SCHOOL HOURS:
Full time enrollment: Tuesday to Saturday 9 am to 5 pm. (35 hours per week approx 13 month in duration)
Part time enrollment: Monday 10 am to 5 pm, Tuesday to Friday 5 pm to 9 pm (22 hours per week approx 21 months in duration).
TUITION PAYMENTS: As set forth in the cost summary, tuition payments must be paid, on the anniversary date of enrollment, each month. If a student is late with payment, a late fee of 20% will be charged per day. If a student is unable to attend classes, for whatever reason, and does not complete the course in the allotted time, an additional fee of $50.00 per day will be required to obtain the allotted clocked-in time required by the Cosmetology Board, in order to write the state board exam.
FUNDING: Hytec School has in-house financing at a no interest rate. Cost for books, equipment, registration fee and state tax must be paid as outlined in the payment section. Tuition payments may be paid on a monthly basis. Cost for that can be calculated by dividing the number of months to complete your chosen field by the amount of tuition (see course outline) All tuition must be paid in full before any transcripts will be issued. Without a transcript a student will not be able to register for the state board exam.
T.F.C. has also come aboard to assist students by extending their payments over a longer period of time at a variable interest rate. Information on this program is available by contacting the school.
